The Social Inclusion Grants provide funding to support initiatives that foster stronger connections and inclusion within and between communities.
The focus of this opportunity includes increasing social connection, strengthening inclusion across diverse communities, promoting culturally safe activities, encouraging participation in sports and recreational programs, supporting multicultural engagement, enabling community dialogue, advancing pro-inclusion initiatives, enhancing outreach efforts, building community capacity, and facilitating family and parenting support programs.
These grants offer financial support ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 (excluding GST) for activities that bring people together and create more inclusive local environments. The program is designed to encourage meaningful participation and engagement across different cultural, social, and community groups.
Eligible applicants include legally constituted not-for-profit organisations, businesses, individuals who are auspiced by an eligible entity, and voluntary-run groups. This ensures that a wide range of community-driven initiatives can access funding and contribute to building inclusive networks.
Funded activities may include culturally safe fitness classes, multicultural sports events such as soccer or wheelchair basketball, community or faith-based dialogue sessions, multicultural festivals, and initiatives that actively promote inclusion. Additional supported activities include community outreach programs, capacity-building initiatives, family fun days, and workshops focused on parenting or life transitions.
Through this funding, communities are empowered to design and implement programs that reflect their unique needs while promoting unity, participation, and inclusivity among diverse populations.
