Arts Council Malta is inviting applications under the Maltese Music on Private Radio Stations Support Scheme, which supports private radio broadcasters in increasing the exposure of contemporary Maltese music through dedicated radio programming.
The scheme supports the promotion of Maltese music, including works by Maltese artists and music featuring the Maltese language. It aims to strengthen Malta’s music sector, increase public access to local music, and contribute to cultural and creative development.
Applicants must be companies registered with the Malta Business Registry and licensed by the Broadcasting Authority as private nationwide radio stations or private digital audio broadcasting stations. Applications must include the October 2025 broadcast schedule. Supported programmes must feature Maltese music released within the previous 36 months, with at least 50% of the music containing Maltese-language lyrics.
Successful applicants may receive up to €10,000 to produce and broadcast dedicated Maltese music programmes. Broadcasters must air 13 programmes per schedule across three consecutive schedules starting on 1 October 2025, with each programme including at least 40 minutes of Maltese music broadcast between 06:00 and 20:00.
