The United Nations Capital Development Fund is seeking qualified firms to provide Business Development Services (BDS) and market linkage support to enterprises owned and operated by migrant families under the Shafal – Remittance Management for Socio-economic Stability of Migrant Families programme in Bangladesh.
The initiative aims to help migrant workers and their families make productive use of remittances while reducing poverty risks. Through financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, private sector engagement, and policy support, the programme seeks to improve socio-economic stability among remittance-receiving households.
The assignment will cover six districts in Bangladesh: Chattogram, Cumilla, Feni, Munshiganj, Tangail, and Narsingdi. The selected organization will be required to develop district-specific implementation strategies that reflect local market conditions, viable sectors, and appropriate mentorship approaches.
Applicants must be legally registered business entities with valid trade licenses, TIN, and VAT registration. They must have a minimum of five years of experience in delivering Business Development Services, entrepreneurship development, mentorship, or market linkage support.
Organizations should demonstrate experience in supporting SMEs, micro-enterprises, informal enterprises, or livelihood programmes linked to migration, remittances, or vulnerable populations. Applicants should have experience working with UN agencies, international development partners, INGOs, or large national NGOs.
A dedicated implementation team, including a Team Leader and technical experts in enterprise development, market linkages, and capacity building, is required. The proposed team should collectively possess more than eight years of relevant professional experience.
