What Types of Startups are they looking for?
- Startups Primed for Growth: gBETA is ideal for early-stage startups that have already launched a product or MVP and have early traction or pre-revenue. It’s designed for founders who want to scale quickly and see value in raising venture capital to accelerate their growth.
- Industry Agnostic: the gBETA Gulf Coast program is industry-agnostic, so they accept a wide variety of startups.
- Verticals they look for, but are not limited to: Manufacturing, Industry 4.0 (Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML), Big Data & Analytics & Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity & Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Robotics & Autonomous Robotics, Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR), Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Digital Twins (Virtual replicas of physical assets to simulate, monitor, and improve real-world performance)).
Eligibility Criteria
- Based in Gulf Coast
- gBETA Gulf Coast is an equity-free pre-accelerator for early-stage venture-backable companies based in the Gulf Coast. The program runs in a hybrid format (in person & Zoom), with most of the programming happening in person in Mobile, AL.
- Program Commitment
- You can commit to at least 85% of their programming, with the ideal being 100%. gBETA requires at least 5-7 hours weekly of programming, not including the time founders dedicate to working on their businesses independently.
- Openness, Fundraising, and Sales
- You’re prepared to discuss your business openly with mentors and investors, knowing that not everything is proprietary. Raising capital is on your radar, and you are either selling already or ready to scale your sales in a more reliable, consistent way.
- Coachability and Responsiveness
- You’re coachable, open to feedback, and value multiple perspectives to make informed decisions for your business. You’re also responsive and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
