One of the challenges faced by a large number of Burundian entrepreneurs is the high cost of packaging. On the occasion of International Startup Day, Bujumbura Business Park has launched the Scale Grant, a non-refundable financing program to help startups tackle the challenge of high packaging costs.
Aims
- More specifically, this “Scale Grant” fund aims to support entrepreneurs who have difficulty obtaining sufficient packaging for their products or those requiring better quality packaging to enhance the value of their items.
Eligibility Criteria
- Being a Burundian entrepreneur
- Be in business for at least 2 years
- Produce goods requiring packaging
- Have a Trade Register and a Tax Identification Number
Selection Criteria
- To ensure transparency and fairness in the process of allocating this funding, they have put in place a rigorous mechanism. A committee will evaluate and select the beneficiaries based on:
- Company development
- Huge demand for the product
- Well-established business model
- Scalability potential
- Job creation potential
