The focus areas of the fund include promoting health and wellbeing, tackling disadvantage, supporting local solutions to meet local needs, promoting community cohesion, and developing sustainable and supportive communities.
The CSW Communities Fund awards grants from the earnings of the Foundation’s endowment fund to organisations working within Coventry, Solihull, and Warwickshire.
Funding is available for start-up costs for new projects or organisations, extending or developing existing projects, pilot projects for research purposes, and purchasing equipment or resources. Grants range from £500 to £3,000 and must be spent within one year of award.
Eligible applicants include registered charities, constituted community groups, companies limited by guarantee with charitable aims, community interest companies, co-operatives such as registered community benefit societies and industrial and provident societies, and social enterprises.
The fund does not support replacement of statutory funding, promotion of religious or political activities, organisations with significant financial reserves, retrospective funding, contributions to endowments or debt repayment, national charities, or overseas travel and expeditions.
