Submissions are now open for CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge, an Asia’s premier global platform to advance innovation and collaboration in sustainability within the urban environment.
Through the CSXC, CapitaLand aims to source for emerging solutions/technologies globally to solve sustainability challenges impacting urban development.
Challenge Areas
- Low Carbon Transition: How might they achieve on-site clean energy solutions for their buildings, significantly reduce the energy consumption in existing buildings?
- Water Conservation & Resilience: How can they adopt new technology to reduce water usage within their assets?
- Waste Management & Circular Economy: How might they better manage their waste and implement circular economy solutions?
- Construction Decarbonisation: How they can achieve minimised embodied carbon through innovative design strategies, low carbon materials and novel construction technologies?
- Health, Safety & Wellness in Buildings: How might they leverage technology to enhance occupational health and safety of their construction sites, retrofit sites, or other areas within their assets or enhance the wellness of users in their existing buildings?
- Tenants
- Supply Chain: How might they influence and enable their supply chains to improve the measurement and reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and quantify the positive impacts from initiatives introduced?
Funding Information
- Total of over S$1 million to cover cost of piloting all innovations.
- CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge provides an opportunity for innovators to work with them in making urban environment more climate-resilient and resource-efficient including:
- Pilot, test and implement innovations within CapitaLand’s buildings located across more than 260 cities in over 40 countries, with over S$1 million to cover the cost of piloting all the chosen innovations.
- Access to both local and global markets with expert mentoring on strategy and approach.
- Implement forward-looking solutions for asset types including retail, office, lodging, business parks, industrial, logistics, self storage, data centres and development/construction sites globally.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate in the Challenge:
- are aged 18 years or over;
- are not employees (including full-time and part-time employees) of CapitaLand Group, or Agorize;
- are not directly involved in the organisation or judging of the Challenge; and
- are not immediate family members of any person directly involved in the organisation of or judging of the Challenge.
- All Submissions must:
- be original work owned by the Participant(s); and not violate or infringe upon any Intellectual Property Rights or proprietary right or other rights including but not limited to contract, copyright, patent, trademark, open-source license permissions, and/or privacy rights, of any other person or entity.
