Deadline: 3 March 2025
Submissions are now open for the Future Positive Challenge, a technology and engineering initiative designed for innovators and disruptors who are passionate about shaping a sustainable and impactful future.
Categories
- Printed Circuits
- They are seeking innovative solutions to revolutionize circuit board design and manufacturing. Their focus is on breakthroughs that use low-impact materials, such as nanoparticle conductive inks and energy-efficient methods, to achieve high-volume production with minimal waste. In particular, they are interested in advancements within selective and additive manufacturing technologies.
- Battery Technology & Recycling
- How can they tackle the challenge of balancing electronic efficiency with battery capacity? Do you have innovative ideas for scaling up battery storage without relying more heavily on lithium or cobalt? Perhaps you have solutions for recycling key components from the batteries already in use.
- Materials
- Logitech is committed to reducing their material carbon footprint. They’re actively exploring future forward materials and manufacturing processes that minimize their environmental impact, compared to “traditional materials and processes.” They are seeking materials that are either renewable, recycled, have similar or better performance, and/or have a lower carbon footprint.
- They aim to incorporate lower-carbon materials across all product categories, including plastics, metals, rubber, fabrics, and potential alternatives to any materials used in their current product lineup. They welcome innovative solutions and emerging technologies that can enhance sustainability both inside and out.
- Their commitment extends to packaging as well. They are seeking renewable, recyclable, and lower-carbon materials to replace conventional options. Key areas of interest include low-carbon foam alternatives for padding and inserts, paper and coatings (such as laminations), and other materials that push beyond the current market standards for packaging.
- Sustainable Manufacturing
- They are actively seeking experts and partners to leverage advanced technologies and insights that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their manufacturing processes and supply chain for electronic and mechanical components, including plastic and metal. Aligned with their commitment to continuous improvement, they constantly evaluate and refine their strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Waste Management
- They are seeking innovative solutions to revolutionize waste management in the electronics industry. The time has come for a sustainable transformation, and they’re looking for visionary partners to help lead the way. Their focus is on key areas such as waste prevention and reduction, recycling and material recovery, waste-to-energy initiatives, and promoting reuse and repurposing. Join them in driving meaningful change for a more sustainable future.
