Applications are now open to promote impactful One Health innovations in agrifood systems that demonstrate measurable real-world benefits and encourage global collaboration for sustainable transformation.
The focus areas include promotion of successfully implemented good practices and innovations in One Health in agrifood systems, sustainable livestock transformation across the entire value chain, improvements in food security, greenhouse gas mitigation, animal health and welfare, reduction of antimicrobial resistance, development of sustainable livestock farming systems, integration of Indigenous Peoples and pastoralist knowledge systems, empowerment of women and girls, capacity development for small-scale producers, strengthened finance mechanisms, improvements in post-processing, and supportive policy frameworks.
Eligible applicants include institutions, international and regional organizations, academic and research entities, civil society groups, and private sector organizations. Applications from women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples are particularly encouraged to ensure inclusive participation. FAO employees are not eligible to apply. The selection process will be conducted by an international panel of experts nominated by FAO, focusing on impact and practical application, innovation and originality, inclusivity and social impact, scalability and replicability, and long-term sustainability.
The selected innovations will receive official recognition at the FAO Global Conference for Actions on One Health in Agrifood Systems, scheduled to take place from 21–23 September 2026 at FAO headquarters. Awarded participants will also be invited to present their work through a dedicated technical session and innovation pitch platform designed to showcase scalable solutions and inspire broader adoption.
