Deadline: September 17, 2026
The focus areas of the programme include circular economy innovation, construction and demolition waste circularity, circular energy integration, electric vehicle battery recycling and reuse, circular economy in the textile industry, digital solutions for the circular economy, strengthening innovation ecosystems, and improving interregional cooperation.
RIVCircular is a project co-funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe to strengthen collaboration between participating territories and accelerate innovation across European innovation ecosystems. The initiative supports Spain through projects that promote the circular economy.
The programme will provide cascade funding through an Interregional Innovation Call covering five thematic topics. These include construction and demolition waste circularity, circular energy integration using local waste streams, electric vehicle battery recycling and reuse, circular economy in the textile industry, and digital solutions for the circular economy.
The total budget available under the call is €12,350,000. Each entity may request funding of up to €600,000 in total, even if it submits multiple proposals across different topics within the same call.
Eligible applicants are private entities with their headquarters or a permanent production centre located in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. Project activities and budget implementation must take place within Extremadura. Co-financing rates vary according to the size of the company, while research organisations carrying out non-commercial activities may receive up to 70–100% co-financing.
Funding will be provided through staged payments. For Topics 1 to 4, beneficiaries will receive 70% pre-financing after signing the agreement, followed by a 15% intermediate payment after interim justification and a final 15% payment upon project completion and final justification. For Topic 5, funding consists of 70% pre-financing and a final 30% payment after project completion and final justification.
