The Business Reports for SME is currently accepting applications to support Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises in enhancing their efficiency and competitiveness by partially funding external consultancy services to develop business reports.
Promoting entrepreneurship, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms, enhancing sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs, job creation in SMEs, innovative and smart economic transformation, regional ICT connectivity, and a smarter, well-connected, and resilient economy.
SMEs often lack the internal resources and expertise to conduct studies that support investment decisions, creating a reliance on outsourced consultancy services. This grant provides non-repayable funding to cover part of the costs for developing either a Business Plan or a Process and Systems Review, enabling SMEs to become more efficient and competitive.
The total budget allocated for this scheme is €1,500,000, with €1,350,000 set aside from 1 January 2024. Grants are offered as a lump sum of €4,000, covering up to 80% of eligible costs.
Eligible applicants include legally registered micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises engaged in economic activity in Malta, including those registered under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code (CAP 16). Projects must comply with the exclusions outlined in the scheme guidelines.
