Deadline Date: June 29, 2026
The United Nations Development Programme is seeking applications to strengthen business skills, financial literacy, market readiness, and investment access for cooperatives and smallholder groups.
The focus areas include capacity building for farmers and cooperative leaders in business and financial management, market readiness, and financial literacy; investment promotion and financial linkages to support the development of bankable investment portfolios, viable business plans, and connections with financial institutions and lead firms; and the synthesis of field-level practices, lessons learned, and business model evaluations to support advocacy, policy dialogue, and scaling of sustainable landscape approaches. The duration of the assignment is 10 months, from July 2026 to April 2027.
The overall objective of the consultancy is to strengthen the capacities of smallholders, cooperative groups, and collaborative alliances within key commodity value chains including coffee, durian, and macadamia, particularly in selected communes of the iLandscape project in Lam Dong.
The selected firm will conduct tailored training sessions for at least 450 farmers and leaders from 10 cooperatives or producer groups using participatory and adult-learning methodologies. This includes developing training materials based on a training needs assessment and organizing 15 full-day workshops within Lam Dong province. The firm will also facilitate participation of lead firms and local banks to support networking and clarify real-world financial and purchasing processes.
The consultancy further includes coordinating the selection of 10 cooperatives or production groups to receive coaching on market and financial access, with a focus on sustainable and climate-smart production systems. A practical guidance toolkit will be developed to help cooperative leaders independently manage loan processes and establish value chain linkages.
In addition, the firm will compile a comprehensive synthesis report documenting the development of viable business models and the outcomes of training activities. This report will support stakeholder engagement and the strengthening of commodity value chains through broader forums.
