Deadline Date: July 07, 2026
The Realization of a Long Documentary Scheme in the Netherlands is inviting applications to support distinctive majority Dutch feature documentaries exceeding 70 minutes to foster a diverse cinematic offering.
The scheme focuses on original and distinctive filmmaking marked by boldness and individuality, the creation of films that stimulate imagination and reflect relevant stories for Dutch audiences, a varied and selectively supported film selection, and opportunities for both experienced and emerging filmmakers across all narrative perspectives and genres.
Funding of up to €275,000 is available as a production grant for a documentary, which includes costs allocated for audio description and subtitling to improve accessibility for visually and hearing-impaired audiences across platforms. Additional support may be granted after approval, including up to €6,000 for developing an impact or outreach plan by a film professional such as an impact producer or publicist, and up to €6,000 for sales-related deliveries including an international press kit for international sales when supported by a sales agreement. Furthermore, up to 75% of eligible extraordinary marketing and promotional costs may be covered, with a maximum contribution of €20,000 for expenses borne by the production company.
Eligibility is limited to independent production companies that are legal entities established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, an EU member state, the EEA, or Switzerland, and that have been continuously active in producing and exploiting audiovisual works for at least two years. The applicant must be represented by a producer who has served as the majority producer on at least one feature-length documentary that had a theatrical release in the Netherlands, and this producer must not be the director of the documentary being submitted.
