The Realization Research and Experiment scheme is inviting applications to support the production of innovative, artistic, and experimental Dutch films that contribute to creative and technical advancement in cinematography.
The focus areas of this scheme include experimental and artistic film production, innovative and exploratory storytelling, creative and technical advancement in cinematography, support for bold and diverse film projects, and realization of short or feature-length Dutch films within artistic and experimental genres.
The scheme supports the realization of (majority) Dutch short or feature films that are exploratory, groundbreaking, or experimental in nature across various genres. It prioritizes high-quality and diverse projects that demonstrate creativity and bold artistic vision.
The aim of the scheme is to strengthen innovation in filmmaking by encouraging projects that contribute to the creative and technical development of cinematography. Selected projects are expected to reflect originality, artistic experimentation, and strong conceptual approaches.
Funding is available from €50,000 up to a maximum of €100,000. In exceptional cases, the board may approve a higher contribution for projects of outstanding quality.
Eligible applicants must be independent production companies established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, an EU member state, the EEA, or Switzerland for at least two years, and actively engaged in continuous audiovisual production and exploitation.
Applications must be represented by a producer who has served as the majority producer on at least one independent, non-commissioned artistic or experimental film production within the professional Dutch film, television, or visual arts sector.
