Deadline Date: July 07, 2026
The Creative Australia is seeking applications for the International Market and Audience Development Fund to support Australian contemporary music artists for international promotional and audience development activities.
The program supports emerging, breakthrough, and established contemporary music acts, including solo artists, instrumentalists, bands, ensembles, electronic artists, producers, songwriters, and composers. The International Market and Audience Development fund focuses on international PR and promotional campaigns, international radio campaigns, content creation targeted towards international audiences such as music videos, social media reels, and lyric translations, as well as international digital marketing and social media strategies.
Funding support ranges from $2,000 to $10,000, and applicants must demonstrate matched funding equal to or greater than the amount requested. Activities supported under the program must begin between 1 October 2026 and 31 December 2026 and must be completed within 12 months from the proposed start date.
The grant can support costs directly related to export activities, including artist and creative worker fees, flights, accommodation, ground transport, travel insurance, visas, freight or baggage costs, childcare and access costs, event registration fees, and costs associated with reducing environmental impact. Accessibility-related expenses such as captioning, translation services, audio description, interpreters, technical equipment, carers, and support workers may also be included.
The funding does not support activities outside the definition of contemporary music, activities conducted in Australia, album or merchandise manufacturing, passport application costs, international relocation expenses, capital expenditure such as studio infrastructure or instrument purchases, or planning and preparation activities conducted in the applicant’s country of residence.
Eligible applicants include Australian citizens or permanent residents applying individually or as groups, as well as organisations and music businesses applying on behalf of artists. Previous recipients may apply again, although priority may be given to first-time recipients. First Nations applicants are encouraged to apply.
Applicants cannot apply if they have already submitted an application to the same category in the current round, have overdue grant reports, owe money to Creative Australia, or have applied to Arts Projects grant rounds for the same activity.
