Deadline Date: July 27, 2026
Applicants are now invited applications to support on-farm innovation projects that improve conservation practices across the United States.
The program focuses on irrigation management technologies, new and innovative grazing land management solutions, nutrient management, and soil health demonstration trials. It also emphasises the recruitment of producers, provision of technical assistance, and delivery of incentive payments to encourage adoption and evaluation of innovative conservation approaches.
The initiative is designed to test and promote conservation innovations directly on farms, helping producers evaluate practical solutions that improve environmental outcomes. Projects are expected to contribute to the development and adoption of effective conservation strategies.
For fiscal year 2026, up to $50 million in total program funding is available. Individual awards range from a minimum of $250,000 to a maximum of $5,000,000. Projects may run for a duration of 3 to 5 years.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of entities such as county governments, city or township governments, state governments, special districts, Native American tribal governments and tribal organizations, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education, nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status (excluding institutions of higher education where applicable), for-profit organizations other than small businesses, and small businesses.
