The Feature Film and Long Animated Film Production Scheme supports the production of original Dutch feature and animated films for diverse audiences in the Netherlands.
The focus areas of this scheme include feature film production, long animated film production, support for original and distinctive storytelling, promotion of diverse film offerings, support for emerging and experienced filmmakers, development of majority Dutch audiovisual productions, and contribution to cultural and creative expression through cinema.
This scheme focuses on supporting high-quality majority Dutch feature films and long animated films that are original, distinctive, and imaginative. It aims to promote films that engage audiences through meaningful storytelling while maintaining a varied and diverse cinematic landscape.
The scheme is open to both emerging and experienced filmmakers, providing opportunities for a wide range of creative voices and storytelling perspectives across different genres.
Funding is available through realization grants for film production. A grant of up to €950,000 may be awarded for films with a production budget of up to €2 million, while films with a budget of €2 million or more may receive up to €1,200,000 in support.
Eligible applicants must be independent production companies established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, an EU member state, the EEA, or Switzerland for at least two years. These companies must be engaged in continuous film and audiovisual production and exploitation activities.
Applications must be represented by a producer who has served as the majority producer on at least one feature film or long animated film that has had a theatrical release in the Netherlands. The producer representing the company must not be the same individual as the film’s director or screenwriter.
