Submit Applications for Funding Futures Programme (UK)

Deadline: December 31, 2025

The Funding Futures Programme supports 16-30 year olds with great ideas for solutions to help those sidelined by the financial system – giving them the tools they need to build financial resilience in their communities, so they become fairer places to live, with opportunities for all.

The effects of the cost-of-living crisis are hitting marginalised and minoritised communities the hardest, with many people struggling to get by – considered too high risk to have access to beneficial financial services, like bank accounts or credit, that others take for granted. Ideas could tackle financial exclusion directly or indirectly. By listening to, and working closely with, the next generation of leaders and pioneers, the Funding Futures Programme will help create a future where a healthy economy means good, sustainable jobs, with money flowing back into communities right across the UK.

The programme provides tailored grants to help young social entrepreneurs turn their ideas into impactful ventures. For those just starting out or at an early stage, grants of up to £8,000 are available to cover social venture costs for initiatives committed to creating social impact in a financially sustainable way. These ventures may be incorporated for less than four years and selling goods or services for less than a year.

For social entrepreneurs who have already established ventures with evidence of social impact, the programme offers grants of up to £18,000. These funds can support social venture costs as well as living costs, helping founders build on their existing success. Eligible ventures should be incorporated for less than four years and selling goods or services for one to four years.

In addition to funding, the programme provides extensive personalised support. Awardees are assigned a support manager who offers one-to-one coaching and guidance throughout the award period. Participants can access workshops from expert facilitators, connect with fellow award winners, and receive expert advice from a network of business professionals, corporate partners, and alumni. Legal consultancy services are available to assist with legal structures, intellectual property, leases, and contracts. The programme also strengthens financial literacy skills to improve the resilience of both the social entrepreneur and their venture.

Peer-to-peer learning opportunities are regularly provided, enabling awardees to share experiences and insights with others working to reduce financial inequalities. Through this combination of funding, guidance, and community support, the Funding Futures Programme empowers young leaders to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those most affected by financial exclusion.
