The Fertilizer Investment and Expansion for Long-term Domestic Supply Program is seeking applications to support projects that expand domestic fertilizer production and strengthen the U.S. fertilizer supply chain.
The focus areas of the program include expanding domestic fertilizer production capacity, bringing new independent domestic fertilizer production facilities into operation, providing agricultural producers with additional domestic fertilizer options, strengthening the U.S. fertilizer supply chain, increasing domestic process manufacturing capacity, expanding or upgrading existing facilities, constructing new domestic production facilities, supporting shovel-ready projects capable of rapidly increasing domestic fertilizer supply, and developing on-site fertilizer terminals and transportation infrastructure to improve supply chain efficiency.
The program provides an estimated total funding of $500,000,000. Individual awards range from a minimum of $15,000,000 to a maximum of $100,000,000.
Funding is intended to support projects that significantly increase domestic fertilizer manufacturing capacity and improve the availability of fertilizer within the country. Eligible projects may include expansions or upgrades of existing production facilities, construction of new domestic fertilizer production facilities, shovel-ready projects that can rapidly increase fertilizer supply, and the development of on-site fertilizer terminals and transportation infrastructure to improve the efficiency of the fertilizer supply chain.
Eligible applicants include Tribes, Tribal Entities, Alaska Native Corporations, For-Profit Entities, Corporations, Non-Profit Entities, Producer Owned Cooperatives and Corporations, Certified Benefit Corporations, and State or Local Government Entities.
