The Pro Helvetia is now accepting applications to support artistic or thematic research for independent performing arts companies and artists in Switzerland.
The focus areas of this grant include promoting professional contemporary Swiss art and cultural production, supporting the creation of new artistic works and productions, encouraging exchange between Switzerland’s linguistic regions, expanding the dissemination of Swiss art and culture internationally, fostering international cultural exchange, enabling artistic or thematic research, exploring different creative formats, and developing new skills without production pressure.
Pro Helvetia promotes professional contemporary Swiss art and cultural production, excluding film, with an emphasis on diversity and national as well as international reach. As a national foundation, it complements the cultural promotion activities of Swiss cantons and municipalities by supporting projects that have cross-regional or international recognition.
This grant is intended for independent performing arts companies and artists from Switzerland who wish to carry out artistic or thematic research, experiment with different formats, and develop new skills without the pressure of producing a final work. The grant can cover all types of costs associated with the research and provides financial support of up to CHF 10,000.
To be eligible, projects must have a clear connection to Switzerland, be of nationwide importance, receive adequate co-funding from public or private sources, and respect and guarantee fair working conditions.
Applications will be considered from companies or artists who have been active nationally and/or internationally for several years and who regularly receive guest performance grants from Pro Helvetia’s Performing Arts division. The remuneration of all participants must follow the recommendations of the relevant professional associations. Pro Helvetia will only consider complete applications submitted within the required deadline.
