Deadline Date: August 26, 2026
The Local Artists Grant Program has launched its applications to support the creative practice of local artists by funding new artistic work and increasing the visibility of artistic diversity across the City of Onkaparinga region.
The program supports creative practice, new artistic work, cultural diversity, leadership development, community inclusion, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, vibrant public spaces, local creative industries, climate action, and waste reduction.
Funding ranging from $2,000 to $7,500 is available for projects that must be completed by 31 December 2027. Matched funding is not required, although applicants seeking funding for significant equipment purchases must contribute at least 50% of the cost.
Funding can be used for direct project costs such as art materials, equipment, and curatorial expenses, professional development and mentorship, artistic activation of public spaces through creative and cultural engagement, activities that increase public visibility of contemporary and historical Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, and collaborations between professional artists and communities to achieve social and creative outcomes.
The grant does not support projects outside the City of Onkaparinga, ineligible applicants, previously incurred expenses, government-funded responsibilities, capital works, ongoing operational costs, religious promotion, conferences, competitions, fundraising events, invite-only or online-only activities, exclusionary projects, or environmentally harmful activities.
The program is open to individual artists or sole traders who reside in the City of Onkaparinga, groups of practicing artists with at least one member living in the City of Onkaparinga, Aboriginal corporations and Torres Strait Islander corporations delivering artistic projects within the City of Onkaparinga, and incorporated not-for-profit organisations, co-operatives or associations undertaking artistic projects in the region.
Applicants must provide a one-page CV for each artist or creative, up to four examples of previous work or sound recordings for music projects, an Australian Business Number or a completed Statement by Supplier form, relevant approvals or booking confirmations where applicable, partner support letters if relevant, quotes for grant-funded expenses over $500, and an auspicing agreement if the application is submitted through an auspice.
