The Community Festivals and Events Grant is seeking applications to support events that promote local culture, community participation, and social connection.
The focus areas of this grant include community, environment, leadership, and liveability. The priorities include increasing opportunities for self-expression, enjoyment, sharing new experiences, improving wellbeing through activities and events, encouraging participation in community life, improving responses to climate change impacts, reducing carbon emissions, supporting the transition towards a circular economy, reducing waste to landfill, enhancing tree canopy and vegetation, encouraging leadership and volunteering, increasing visibility of local culture and identities, and improving inclusive and quality spaces for community enjoyment.
The grant provides funding to support community festivals and events that enhance local culture, encourage social connection, and improve the liveability of the region.
Funding available ranges from $2,000 to $10,000, with an annual funding duration.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organisations, incorporated bodies, co-operatives or associations, registered charitable organisations, unincorporated community groups with auspices, businesses based in the City of Onkaparinga delivering not-for-profit projects, and Aboriginal corporations and Torres Strait Islander corporations.
Eligibility does not guarantee funding, and applications must meet the grant requirements to be considered.
Applications will not be funded for activities outside Onkaparinga, reimbursement of funds already spent, programs or services primarily considered the responsibility of the state or Australian Government, new buildings, capital works, facility maintenance works, ongoing staff salaries or administration costs, equipment-only purchases, political organisations, activities solely promoting religion, training, study or academic research, or applications only for attending or organising forums, workshops, or conferences.
