The Start-up Grant Program is currently accepting applications to support individuals develop and realize innovative, growth-oriented startup ideas in Austria.
The program supports innovative and scalable business ideas across all industries. Applications are assessed based on the plausibility of the business idea, growth and scaling potential, innovative content, prospects for economic success, and the skills of the individual or team.
Recipients are required to participate in four coaching sessions with them and attend networking events organized through the Start-up Grant program. These activities are an essential part of the funding and are linked to the installment payments.
The Start-up Grant provides funding to cover the living expenses of founders while they focus on developing their startup. Each participant can receive €8,000 over six months, with support available for a maximum of three people per startup project.
The funding is paid in three installments, including an initial payment of €2,000 followed by two payments of €3,000 each. The grant is provided together with coaching, consulting, networking opportunities, and mandatory participation in the Founders Lab incubator program.
To be eligible, applicants must have an innovative and scalable business idea, must not currently be engaged in any self-employed economic activity, must not be participating in the business start-up program of the Public Employment Service or receiving AMS benefits, and must have had a main residence in Vienna for at least six months or a secondary residence in Vienna for at least one year. The registration certificate must not be older than one month. Before submitting an application, applicants should contact their startup experts to learn about the required formalities.
