The programme focuses on renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste beneficiation, green buildings, green transportation and sustainable mobility, and sustainable agriculture and agribusiness technology (Egypt only). It also aims to strengthen Egypt’s cleantech ecosystem by supporting startup acceleration, ecosystem strengthening through the training and certification of cleantech experts, mentors, and trainers, institutional capacity building for organizations delivering cleantech acceleration services, and global connectivity through the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (GCIP) network.
The programme provides structured acceleration support for up to 25 Egyptian cleantech startups, offering tailored guidance to address the unique challenges of clean technology innovation, commercialization, market deployment, and business growth. Selected participants receive expert mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, technical specialists, and industry professionals based on the specific needs and maturity of their startups.

Startups gain national and international visibility through programme showcases, ecosystem events, strategic networking opportunities, partner communications, Demo Days, and potential participation in activities across the GCIP network. Participants also have opportunities to connect with key ecosystem stakeholders while benefiting from international expertise and increased market visibility.
Selected startups may participate in the Middle East Innovation Week (MEIW) or Techne Summit 2026, where they can engage with investors, corporates, and innovation ecosystem stakeholders. The event offers networking and business matchmaking opportunities, startup showcases, keynote sessions, workshops, industry discussions, partnership-building opportunities, market exploration, and potential pitching opportunities to present their solutions to investors.
Applicants must have an innovative clean technology solution that helps address climate and environmental challenges or improves access to clean water, health, off-grid electricity, or sanitation.
