Deadline Date: September 15, 2026
The Advanced Computing Projects Competition is accepting applications to support access to national advanced computing resources in Portugal through a competitive allocation process.
The focus areas include promoting the use of advanced computing resources, strengthening cooperation between computing centers, and developing national and international partnerships in research, development, and innovation activities. The initiative also supports the efficient and appropriate use of computing resources under the National Network for Advanced Computing, as well as the development of advanced computing projects across scientific fields.
The competition is implemented under the Advanced Computing Projects Regulation and aims to aggregate national computing resources while encouraging collaboration between different entities involved in advanced computing. It also contributes to strengthening scientific and technological infrastructure and innovation capacity.
Applications in the A0 and A1 categories are subject to technical suitability validation based on criteria including technical adaptation to advanced computing resources, reasonableness of requested resources, and planning for resource use. The evaluation is carried out by technical teams operating the computing platforms.
Eligible applicants include research and development institutions, collaborative laboratories, technological interface centers, science and technology infrastructures, networks and consortia, private non-profit R&D organisations, digital innovation hubs, other public and private non-profit institutions involved in research and innovation, companies engaged in advanced computing projects, and individuals active in Portugal working on research, development, or innovation activities.
