Deadline: 3-March-2026
The Business Sector Support Grants program provides targeted funding to strengthen local business networks, build capability, and promote vibrant precincts across the City of Sydney.
The funding prioritises projects that support local businesses to adapt to new technologies, explore alternative business models and increase accessibility, upskill local businesses and entrepreneurs to meet the needs of a more innovative and sustainable economy, build the skills and capacity of businesses to meet the needs of diverse communities to increase economic participation, advocate for local businesses on key industry issues, and promote local precincts and unique experiences in the area.
This program is designed to assist local business chambers, industry associations and other eligible organisations in delivering initiatives that enhance the skills and capacity of local enterprises. By supporting structured programs and collaborative efforts, the grants aim to strengthen connections between businesses and create meaningful networking opportunities that contribute to long-term economic growth.
Funding is available in the form of cash grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 per year, supporting either a one-year program or multi-year funding of up to three years. In addition to cash support, value in kind assistance is available through street banner pole hire and indoor venue hire. Applicants may also request up to $5,000 for capital expenditure or equipment purchases as part of their project.
Cash funding may be delivered progressively or upon the completion of agreed milestones within the program period. Projects funded under this round must be delivered between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.
To be eligible, applicants must operate within the City of Sydney’s local area or demonstrate significant benefits for local residents, workers, businesses or visitors. Eligible organisations include not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations and business advocacy organisations. The program also encourages applications from organisations that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culture, including community-controlled organisations and networks.
