The Industrial Postdoc Program is inviting grant applications to support collaborations that bring together companies, research institutions, and postdoctoral researchers to conduct business‑oriented research in Denmark.
The programme’s focus areas include supporting business‑oriented research carried out with companies that have a geographical presence in Denmark, fostering collaboration between companies and research institutions, investing in research projects both within thematic areas such as green research, life science, digitalisation and space technology and outside these thematic areas, and strengthening innovation and development through applied research.
Funding for Industrial Postdoc projects helps cover portions of the involved parties’ costs. Companies can receive up to DKK 22,000 per month toward the Industrial Postdoc’s salary and up to DKK 2,500 per month for the company’s expenses related to the postdoc’s travel. Research institutions can receive up to DKK 10,000 per month (including overhead) to cover project‑relevant expenses. This support enables businesses and research partners to share the investment in applied research that bridges academic knowledge and practical innovation.
To be eligible for support, participating companies must have a geographical department in Denmark with the finances and facilities needed to run the project, and universities or research institutions must be able to assign a supervisor to the project. The postdoc candidate must have obtained a PhD degree no more than five years before the time of application. These eligibility requirements ensure that the project has the right mix of academic expertise, company commitment, and practical capacity to succeed.
