Deadline Date: February 18, 2026
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research is seeking proposals to support industrial innovation by advancing additive manufacturing technologies for practical industrial applications.
CPAM focuses on industry-led R&D projects where additive manufacturing processes or AM hardware are central, emphasizing collaboration between industry partners and HEI or Science Council partners. The program prioritizes proposals that produce knowledge products such as technology demonstrators, technology packages, process documents, or technical progress reports. Projects may also be structured as student R&D initiatives, and proposals can be developed for applications across any sector where additive manufacturing can be utilized.
Each project can request an annual budget of between R500,000 and R800,000, excluding contributions from the industry partner, and project durations can range from six to eighteen months depending on the scope of work.
Eligible applicants include industry partners, preferably in the private sector, who act as lead users and lead applicants and demonstrate willingness to co-fund and co-develop the project in collaboration with HEI or Science Council partners. If the industry partner does not submit the proposal as the lead applicant, the research partner may submit it, provided the industry partner signs off as a co-applicant. Proposals without a HEI or Science Council partner will be disqualified.
