Deadline Date: December 12, 2025
The Malta Enterprise, as the donor and facilitator of this initiative, has launched the SME Enhance Grant Scheme to support Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in expanding, diversifying, and innovating their operations.
The scheme provides non-repayable grants to help businesses invest in activities aimed at improving productivity, driving growth, and strengthening competitiveness in the global market.
The grant scheme aligns with Policy Objective 1 of the SFC2021 Programme 2021-2027, which focuses on creating a more competitive and smarter Europe through innovative economic transformation and regional ICT connectivity. It also addresses specific objectives such as promoting entrepreneurship, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms, and enhancing the sustainable growth of SMEs, including job creation through productive investments and the benefits of digitisation.
The SME Enhance scheme will remain operational until 31 December 2026, subject to fund availability. The initial budget allocated is €6,000,000. Grants range from a minimum of €10,000 to a maximum of €128,400 per eligible project, with an additional 7% flat rate to cover indirect costs associated with the investment.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises engaged in economic activity, regardless of legal form. Start-ups meeting these criteria are also eligible. Enterprises without legal personality under applicable law must be registered under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code (CAP 16 of the Laws of Malta).
This grant scheme offers a valuable opportunity for SMEs to invest in their growth, adopt innovative practices, enhance operational efficiency, and secure a stronger competitive position within Europe’s evolving economic landscape.
