Deadline: 21 May 2024
The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is proud to host the 3rd edition of the Youth AgriChampions – a Peer2Peer workshop series on climate adaptation in agriculture.
The initiative brings together ~15 youth grassroot voices from the world of smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia, to share their on-the-ground experience with adapting their practices to climate change. During the workshops – taking place in July 2024, the BKMC Youth AgriChampions will develop a youth demand paper to be elevated in high-level political fora by BKMC co-chair and 8th Secretary-General of the UN Ban Ki-moon. The thematic focus of the 2024 Demand Paper will be “locally-led adaptation for smallholder farming”.
The Youth AgriChampions Workshop Series 2024 targets young smallholder farmers, agripreneurs, and youth working in the agricultural sector, aged between 18 to 35 from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia.
Upon successful completion of the workshop series, participants will be awarded certificates signed by 8th UN SG Ban Ki-moon and they will become part of the ever growing BKMC Youth AgriChampions Alumni Network.
