The StartSpace Business Fundamentals Program is an 8-week in-person initiative designed to help early-stage startup and SME founders strengthen the core foundations of their business.
The program focuses on business models and pricing, sales, legal risk, cash flow, governance, and operations, with the objective of building strong commercial, financial, and operational capabilities that enable founders to make better business decisions and build sustainable ventures.
The StartSpace Business Fundamentals Program is a structured, practical capability-building initiative designed for founders who want to strengthen their understanding of the commercial realities of running a business. It is delivered as an 8-week in-person program and is fully subsidised through the support of StartSpace and State Library Victoria, with additional support from Study Melbourne.
The program is open to both StartSpace members and non-members and supports founders across Victoria’s startup and SME ecosystem. Participation is limited to 15 teams per cohort, ensuring focused learning and direct engagement throughout the program.
The program is intended for founders who are actively building or running an early-stage startup or SME, have an idea, MVP, early customers, or early revenue, and are seeking to develop deeper commercial and operational capability. It is suitable for both tech and non-tech businesses, with an emphasis on practical tools that can be applied immediately.
This program is not suitable for individuals who are still at the idea exploration stage, those seeking a mindset or inspiration-focused experience, or those who are not yet actively engaged in building a business.
