The iHatch is a nationwide incubation programme is inviting applications to strengthen innovation hubs and support early-stage startups across Nigeria through structured training, mentorship, and ecosystem development.
The focus areas include fintech, agritech, healthtech, edtech, cleantech, logistics, security, civic technology, digital innovation, startup incubation, mentorship, and ecosystem development.
iHatch operates across all 36 states and the FCT through a decentralised hub-first model that focuses on building strong innovation ecosystems. The programme strengthens innovation hubs by training them to become long-term support systems for startups, ensuring sustained development beyond the incubation period.
The programme follows a dual-track structure that includes both hub onboarding and startup incubation. It begins with an open call for innovation hubs and startups, followed by training and certification of hubs, MVP development for startups, legal incorporation, market validation, and sector-specific capacity building. The process also includes mentorship, performance monitoring, and investor engagement.
The total duration of the programme is ten months, consisting of five months of hub training and five months of startup incubation. This structure ensures that both ecosystem enablers and startups receive continuous support throughout the programme cycle.
Key benefits of the programme include hands-on training, business and skills workshops, mentorship from industry experts, networking opportunities, and access to resources including funding and market opportunities. The programme is designed to equip startups with the tools needed to scale and succeed in competitive markets.
iHatch is open to early-stage startups, tech-enabled founders, problem-driven innovators, and builders ready to execute solutions with strong local relevance and global potential across priority sectors.
