The Water and Energy for Food 2.0 MENA Programme is currently accepting applications to support early-stage enterprises in Syria working at the water, energy, and food nexus to apply for support aimed at strengthening food and water security and promoting inclusive sustainable development.
The focus areas include food processing, water management innovations, clean energy solutions, digital market platforms, and circular economy enterprises operating at the water, energy, and food nexus. Selected enterprises will become part of the WE4F 2.0 MENA innovator cohort and receive technical assistance from water–energy–food experts across the region. Based on assessed needs and milestones, enterprises may receive grant funding of up to USD 30,000.
The programme also supports enterprises through investor matchmaking and helps them become investment-ready by connecting them with local and regional financing opportunities to support their growth and impact across Syria and beyond.
WE4F 2.0 Track 4 is open to early-stage enterprises operating at the water–energy–food nexus, including formally registered businesses and companies transitioning into formality. The track is designed to support Syria’s rebuilding entrepreneurial ecosystem, with eligibility requirements adapted to the local context.
Eligible applicants must be legally registered and operating in Syria. Applicants must demonstrate relevance to the water, energy, and food nexus and the potential to create community-level impact. Financial and operational requirements, including revenue, team size, years of operation, and co-financing requirements, may be lowered or waived based on the operating context.
