The Canadian Cleantech in Mining Mission to Chile supports Canadian SMEs in connecting with Chilean mining stakeholders to showcase innovative clean technologies and expand into international markets.
The mission focuses on mining, clean technology, water management technologies, mine electrification, e-mobility and clean energy, digital technologies, AI, automation and robotics technologies, and environmental monitoring and ESG technologies.
The mission aims to connect Canadian cleantech innovators with Chilean mining stakeholders seeking solutions to operational and sustainability challenges. These include improving water management, reducing emissions, and adopting more efficient and environmentally responsible mining practices.
Through targeted engagements at Expo FOREDE 2026, participating companies will have opportunities to identify pilot and demonstration projects for their technologies. These projects can help businesses validate and adapt their solutions under real-world mining conditions while strengthening their commercial readiness for the Chilean market.
The initiative also supports Canadian companies in building partnerships with local stakeholders and integrating into established mining supply chains. These collaborations are intended to contribute to more sustainable and efficient mining operations while supporting global sustainable resource development.
Selected Canadian SMEs may apply for reimbursement of up to 75% of eligible travel costs, including economy airfare and per diem expenses, up to a maximum of CAD 5,000.
To participate, applicants must be incorporated, profit-oriented Canadian SMEs with 500 or fewer full-time equivalent employees, have operated for at least 12 months, employ a minimum of five full-time equivalent employees in Canada, and be developing innovative, technology-driven products, services, or processes with commercial potential. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient financial and operational capacity to undertake technology pilots and commercialize the results while pursuing international market expansion.
Preference may be given to companies with at least ten full-time equivalent employees in Canada, international commercialization experience, annual sales revenue exceeding CAD 500,000, and technologies that have reached Technology Readiness Level 7 or higher.
