Deadline: July 31, 2026
The Indie Games Fund Africa provides cash awards and hands-on support to small indie games studios registered in select African countries to help them grow their businesses on Google Play.
The Indie Games Fund Africa was established to support the growth of the indie games ecosystem across the African continent by providing direct financial assistance and expert guidance to promising small studios. This initiative aims to empower local developers to scale their businesses and reach wider audiences through Google Play.
The program specifically targets small indie games developers with no more than 50 employees, whose companies are registered in one of the eligible African countries. Selected studios must have already published a high-quality indie game on Google Play or another platform, demonstrating high-growth potential. Approximately 10 studios will be chosen to receive funding and support.
Each selected studio will receive a grant ranging from 50,000 to 200,000 USD, with the responsibility for any applicable taxes resting with the recipient. The funding is non-dilutive, meaning studios do not give up equity in exchange for the award, and is intended to help them further develop and expand their games businesses.
