The Water and Energy for Food 2.0 MENA Programme is inviting MSMEs and scale-ups in Algeria, Palestine, and Syria to apply for support aimed at strengthening innovative solutions in fragile and underserved markets.
The call is seeking enterprises operating across the water, energy, and food nexus, including water management innovators, climate-resilient agri-businesses, clean energy solutions, digital market platforms, and circular economy enterprises that demonstrate potential for innovation and high community-level impact.
Selected enterprises will join the WE4F 2.0 MENA innovator cohort and receive technical assistance from leading water–energy–food experts across the region. Based on assessed needs and milestones, eligible enterprises may access grant funding with average support of USD 80,000.
WE4F 2.0 Track 3 is open to legally incorporated or registered for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, as well as academic institutions, that generate revenue and maintain a self-sustaining operational budget. Applicants must demonstrate a proven revenue track record selling products or services relevant to the water–energy–food nexus and climate resilience.
The track is open to early-to-late-stage companies and informal businesses transitioning into formality, recognizing the context of nascent markets. Organizations must have been operating for at least one year and demonstrate relevance to the water, energy, and food nexus along with the potential for climate resilience impact at the community level.
Eligible applicants must have minimum annual revenues of USD 25,000. No EBITDA margin or growth rate thresholds are required. Applicants must be legally registered and operating in Algeria, Palestine, and/or Syria. Application responses can be submitted in English, French, or Arabic. Co-financing requirements may be adjusted or lowered.
