The Tourism Business Capability Subsidy Program provides financial assistance to eligible tourism and event businesses in Queensland to access training and accreditation programs that enhance business capability, service quality, and industry competitiveness.
The program focuses on sustainability, ecotourism, trade distribution, cultural understanding, improving tourism quality, accessible tourism, marinas, zoos and aquariums, and caravan and holiday parks.
The initiative is designed to support tourism and event businesses in strengthening their skills, knowledge, and operational standards through participation in targeted training and accreditation activities. By investing in professional development and recognized industry standards, the program aims to improve business performance and contribute to the growth of Queensland’s tourism sector.
Funding is available to assist businesses in undertaking training and accreditation programs that align with key industry priorities. These programs help businesses enhance visitor experiences, improve service delivery, strengthen sustainability practices, and build greater market competitiveness.
The subsidy supports a broad range of capability-building activities across the tourism and events industry, including programs that promote environmental responsibility, accessibility, cultural awareness, quality improvement, and sector-specific best practices.
Eligible applicants can receive a subsidy of up to AUD 2,000 to cover approved training and accreditation costs.
The program is open to eligible sole traders, micro, small, and medium-sized tourism and event businesses operating in Queensland. Applicants must participate in approved training and/or accreditation programs that support business capability development within the identified focus areas.
