Deadline Date: August 25, 2026
The Renewable Manufacturing Grant provides funding to support businesses in establishing new or expanded commercial-scale manufacturing facilities in New South Wales (NSW) that produce components for grid-scale renewable energy generation, storage, and transmission.
The program focuses on driving economic growth across NSW through competitive goods and services, exports, investment attraction, job creation, sustainable employment, and opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses; growing NSW’s renewable energy supply chain capacity and capability through expansion of existing manufacturing capacity, investment in new industry capabilities, rapid scaling, commercialization of innovative technologies, and utilization of the state’s skilled industrial workforce; and alleviating supply chain risks by supporting onshore manufacturing, diversifying supply sources, securing renewable energy infrastructure supply, and reinforcing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.
The grant forms part of the Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative and aims to strengthen the emerging renewable energy manufacturing sector in NSW. Funding is available for projects that contribute to the local production of renewable energy infrastructure, including wind towers, solar panels, batteries, and transmission cables.
By supporting the establishment and expansion of manufacturing facilities, the program seeks to enhance the state’s capability to meet the growing demand for renewable energy infrastructure while creating economic opportunities and strengthening industrial competitiveness. The initiative also supports the development of resilient domestic supply chains that can contribute to long-term energy security and sustainability goals.
Projects located in the Hunter and Illawarra regions are particularly encouraged, as these areas have been identified as strategic priorities by the NSW Government. The program is administered by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
Grant funding ranges from AUD 5 million to AUD 30 million per project, providing substantial support for large-scale manufacturing investments within the renewable energy sector.
