The Novo Nordisk Foundation is inviting applications for project support to strengthen scientific education, promote informal learning environments, and enhance interest, knowledge, and skills in science, technology, sustainability and health among children, young people, families, and the wider population in Denmark.
The call focuses on STEM education, science didactic research, experiences with science and technology in leisure time, sustainability, green transition, health, science pedagogy, natural sciences, crafts and design, food science, mathematics, teacher and pedagogue education, EPX education, science competitions, talent development, competence enhancement for educators, artificial intelligence, computational thinking, digital technology understanding, science activity centres, museums, leisure activities, summer schools, and public engagement with science and technology.
A total funding framework of up to DKK 53 million is available under this call. Grants ranging from DKK 100,000 to DKK 6,000,000 may be awarded for projects with a duration of up to six years. The foundation does not provide support for commercial purposes, construction of buildings, overhead or indirect costs such as rent, electricity, water, and maintenance, or projects receiving overlapping funding from other sources. Applicants must disclose any existing or pending funding related to the proposed project.
Eligible applicants include organisations, institutions, educational establishments, science activity centres, museums, universities, university colleges, and other relevant entities capable of implementing projects within the scope of the call. Researchers applying for research grants may receive support for their own salary for up to two years if they are not employed in permanent positions. Permanently employed researchers at universities and university colleges may apply for funding for project staff and temporary replacement arrangements but not for their own salaries.
