The Department of Primary Industries and Regions is accepting applications for its Eyre Peninsula and SA Arid Lands Weed Control Business Grant Program.
The Eyre Peninsula and SA Arid Lands Weed Control Business Grant has been created to build local capacity in the affected regions to help landholders, landscape boards, and natural resource management groups respond to current and future weed incursions.
Funding Information
- Total funding available is $14,000 (GST exclusive) per applicant.
- The grant will provide 75% of the costs of:
- training for up to 2 people towards pest management technician’s licence, endorsed for control weeds plus chemical user training
- licensing fees for a period of 3 years for up to 2 people (pest management technician licence)
- temporary traffic management training for up to 2 people
- licensing fees for business pest controller’s licence
- eligible equipment purchases (up to $10,000 ex. GST).
Eligibility Criteria
- The funding is available to owners of new and existing businesses that provide services for weed control within the Eyre Peninsula and SA Arid Lands Landscape Board Regions.
- Applicants must:
- reside in or, if a corporate body, operate primarily on the Eyre Peninsula or SA Arid Lands
- hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST.
- If you are establishing a new business and do not currently hold an ABN, you must provide your ABN and confirm your GST registration when informed that your application is successful.
Ineligibility Criteria
- You are ineligible to apply if you have received funding towards the same activities from another South Australian or Australian Government program.
