Deadline Date: June 22, 2026
The INNO-CCUS invites applications for research and innovation projects that contribute to advancing carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) in Denmark while supporting scalable and cost-effective solutions across the value chain.
The call focuses on addressing current challenges in the CCS value chain, maturing carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions through scalable and verified nature-based carbon removal, and advancing carbon-based materials for circular technology innovation (CCU). The initiative is anchored in the INNO-CCUS Impact Framework, which identifies critical inflection points in the development of the Danish CCUS value chain and outlines strategic learning questions to guide project proposals.
The total budget available under this call is approximately DKK 69 million. Applicants can request funding from approximately DKK 3 million and above, with no fixed upper funding limit per project. INNO-CCUS expects to fund between five and ten projects.
Eligible applicants include legal entities such as companies, research institutions, NGOs, public institutions, and other relevant organisations from Denmark or abroad that are directly involved in project activities. However, the lead applicant must be a Danish participant with a Danish CVR number. Each consortium must include at least one knowledge institution and one industry partner, although in some cases a public institution, municipality, or NGO may replace the industry partner if more relevant for project implementation or uptake of results.
Applications must be submitted in English using the official INNO-CCUS Pool 5 application template and required appendices. The project proposal is limited to 30,000 characters, including spaces but excluding mandatory tables. Applicants are also expected to comply with all requirements outlined in the call documents, partnership agreement, funding regulations and state aid rules.
