Competition Rounds

• Round 1
  • Contestants compete against one another in four groups of four – the red, blue, green and yellow groups. The top two contestants from each group (eight in total) go through to round 2.
• Round 2
  • The two remaining contestants from each of the four groups compete against each other in round 2, with one contestant from each group (four in total) going through to the semi-final.
• Semi-Final
  • For the first time in the competition, contestants from the four different groups compete against one another, with only two going through to the final round. These two finalists are introduced to the competition wildcard at the end of the semi-final.
• Final
  • The two finalists and wildcard compete to determine the winner, first runner-up and second runner-up.

How it works?

• Enter
  • Submit an online entry for your already trading business (more ideally, your business should have the potential to scale). They’ll invite the most promising entries to submit 90-second video pitches along with supporting documents before they narrow the applicants down to 16 contestants who will proceed to the first round of the competition.
• Polish Your Pitch
  • Before delivering their first-round pitches, the 16 contestants spend four days in Johannesburg attending a highly practical learning programme developed especially for Pitch & Polish by Raizcorp, and also meet and attended their first sessions with their Raizcorp entrepreneurial mentors or guides.
