The Industry Development Fund is inviting applications to support programmes that enhance the skills of filmmakers across New Zealand’s screen sector.
The focus areas and priorities of the fund include impactful script development processes that lead to strong and distinctive feature film scripts, director skills development with an emphasis on building a distinctive directorial voice and preparing directors for their first and second feature films, and producer skills development that prepares producers for their first and second feature films. It also prioritizes strong collaboration between filmmakers through initiatives that focus on produced film outcomes, including short films, and supports programmes that identify and develop new storytellers from Māori communities and across New Zealand’s diverse communities.
The Industry Development Fund aims to support programmes that enhance filmmaking craft and practice, enabling filmmakers to create strong and compelling films that contribute to the growth of New Zealand’s screen industry.
The fund supports initiatives that focus on strengthening creative and technical skills within the film sector, with the broader goal of producing high-quality and distinctive film content.
There are two budget strands available under this fund. Strand 1 supports budget requests up to $350,000, while Strand 2 supports budget requests under $30,000.
Eligible applicants include screen sector organisations, companies, or collectives that are registered in New Zealand.
