Deadline Date: June 10, 2026
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is seeking applications to design and implement a community-based experiential campaign aimed at improving vegetable consumption, nutrition awareness and cooking practices among low-income households in Kenya.
The focus areas of this initiative include increasing purchase intent for vegetables, enhancing demand for a variety of vegetables within target communities, improving cooking skills through practical preparation techniques that strengthen taste and nutritional value, and promoting vegetable-based recipes alongside nutrition education in collaboration with a nutritionist.
A large-scale series of participatory cooking sessions will be conducted, where community members will be trained on essential cooking methods, cost-effective flavour enhancement techniques, and nutrition insights, supported by recipe booklets distributed to participants. These sessions are designed to be interactive and community-driven, reinforcing practical dietary improvement at household level.
In addition to cooking experiences, direct one-on-one engagement activities will be implemented at vegetable vendor stalls to strengthen consumer awareness, reinforce nutrition messaging, and encourage diversified vegetable purchases. Brand representatives will work closely with vendors to support sustained message retention and consumer interaction.
The initiative also includes structured coordination, logistics management, compliance monitoring, risk mitigation, documentation, and data-driven reporting systems to track implementation progress and measure behavioural and nutritional outcomes using digital tools. Continuous feedback collection and post-implementation evaluation are central to assessing effectiveness and guiding future improvements.
The total funding allocated for this opportunity is capped at 200,000 US dollars, inclusive of all taxes, covering consultancy, implementation activities, cooking materials, procurement of vegetables from local vendors, and associated operational and regulatory costs.
Eligibility is open to experienced service providers capable of designing and implementing large-scale community-based behavior change and experiential marketing campaigns in Kenya. Applicants must demonstrate proven capacity in managing multi-county field activations, particularly within low-income urban and peri-urban settings, and should have prior experience engaging households and community stakeholders in nutrition, health, or food-related programs.
