The Ushus Startup Support Program is designed to strengthen maritime entrepreneurship in India by providing structured financial assistance, incubation and ecosystem support to eligible startups.
The program focuses on enabling maritime startups by addressing key development dimensions such as technical advancement, regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and marketing enablement while bringing relevant stakeholders together to build a strong startup ecosystem.
The initiative offers financial assistance through a grant of up to ₹30 lakh along with equity investment opportunities. Selected startups also gain access to incubation support, structured mentorship, angel and venture capital networking, and broader market access support aimed at improving scalability and commercialization potential.
To be eligible, applicants must be recognized startups under DPIIT and should have a viable business idea focused on developing a product or service with clear market fit and commercialization potential. The solution or product must operate within the maritime sector and align with the focus areas outlined under the program.
The startup is required to integrate technology into its core product, service, business model, distribution approach, or operational methodology. Additionally, Indian promoters must hold at least 51% shareholding in the startup at the time of application, in accordance with applicable regulations under the Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI (ICDR) Regulations, 2018.
