Deadline Date: June 05, 2026
The 2026 Forest Business Accelerator is now open for applications, offering early-stage forest sector startups an opportunity to scale innovation while competing for a final peer-selected award of $15,000.
The focus areas of the program include products that use chips, dust, resins, shavings or other forest byproducts, wood-based technologies for new materials, chemicals, bio-based products and structures, products utilizing underused species such as poplar and birch, technologies that improve forest industry operations including automation, production, sales, supply chain and forest management using AI and other digital tools, and products or services that enhance the use, efficiency or performance of wood-based heat and energy systems.
The accelerator is designed for start-up and seed-stage businesses working within the forest bioeconomy. It supports companies developing scalable solutions that can improve resource efficiency, unlock value from underutilized materials, and modernize traditional forest industry systems. Participants benefit from structured engagement throughout the program, where peer collaboration and mentoring play a central role in strengthening business models and innovation pathways.
A key feature of the program is its final peer-selected award of $15,000, which is granted to one participating company at the conclusion of the accelerator. This reflects the program’s emphasis on community-driven evaluation and collaborative growth among participating ventures. The initiative aims to encourage practical, market-ready solutions that can contribute to a more efficient and sustainable forest sector.
