Applications are now open for the 2026 Cohort of the AgriTech Challenge Pro, an advanced business incubation programme by Kosmos Innovation Center aimed at supporting high-potential agribusiness start-ups to scale innovative solutions within Ghana’s agricultural sector.
The programme focuses on food innovation, agri-machinery, technology-driven agribusiness solutions, productivity enhancement, improved agricultural yields, job creation, business incubation, market readiness, investment preparation, entrepreneurial capacity building, technical innovation support, and ecosystem collaboration within Ghana’s agribusiness sector.
The AgriTech Challenge Pro is designed for ambitious start-ups that are seeking practical incubation support, product refinement opportunities, business growth assistance, and access to industry expertise. Through the programme, selected start-ups will work closely with industry experts, mentors, and business advisors to accelerate their entrepreneurial journey and bring innovative solutions to market faster.
Participants will receive real-time incubation support from KIC’s Center of Excellence in Kumasi, a specialised facility that provides advanced technical infrastructure, engineering support, and commercialisation services for start-ups, MSMEs, and corporate partners. The center operates as a comprehensive maker space with six specialised maker centres dedicated to supporting the development of agricultural technologies and innovations.
The programme also provides participants with business incubation and acceleration support, mentorship and coaching, product and market development assistance, technical expertise, innovation resources, investor and ecosystem linkages, entrepreneurial training, as well as networking and collaboration opportunities.
The AgriTech Challenge Pro forms part of the Initiative for Youth in Agricultural Transformation (IYAT), an initiative of Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Kosmos Innovation Center. The initiative aims to equip young leaders and entrepreneurs in Ghana’s agriculture sector with the skills and support needed to develop innovative solutions that address barriers across agricultural value chains while creating employment opportunities for young people.
To be eligible for the 2026 KIC AgriTech Challenge Pro, applicants must have a team of two to four co-founders, with all founders aged between 18 and 35 years and resident in Ghana. Applicants must have completed tertiary education or currently be tertiary students. All founders must also be available and committed throughout the full duration of the programme. The business idea should address challenges within the food processing, food innovation, or agro-hardware value chain. Female-led teams and previous KIC programme participants are strongly encouraged to apply.
