The focus areas, objectives, priorities, and themes of the fund are Integrated Agricultural Technologies including crop production, livestock and animal agriculture, and aquaculture technologies; Tourism Technologies including digital visitor experience and destination management, immersive and emerging tourism technologies, heritage, conservation and data analytics; and Manufacturing Technologies including natural resource value addition, industrial and advanced manufacturing, renewable and non-renewable energy manufacturing, and smart industry.
The Government of the Republic of Zambia created the Technology Business Development Fund to support technology-driven solutions and business development. The fund is administered under the Ministry of Technology and Science and implemented through the National Technology Business Centre.
The 2026 call targets early-stage startups and promoters with market-ready innovative prototypes, products, and services that align with the strategic priority areas.
The initiative provides an opportunity for innovators to transform their technological concepts and prototypes into viable commercial ventures while contributing to Zambia’s agricultural, industrial, and technological development.
Integrated Agricultural Technologies focus on solutions that combine crop production, animal agriculture, and aquaculture while recognising the importance of these systems within Zambia’s farming landscape and water resources.
Tourism Technologies support innovations that enhance visitor experiences, improve destination management, and strengthen Zambia’s position as a digitally enabled tourism destination.
Manufacturing Technologies aim to strengthen Zambia’s industrial base by adding value to locally available resources, improving production processes, and building competitive manufacturing capacity.
Eligible applicants include innovators, startups, entrepreneurs seeking to commercialise their innovations, research and development institutions, universities, colleges, trades training institutes, agri-tech enterprises, digital platform developers, tourism innovators, and manufacturing technology providers with scalable and deployable solutions.
