The European Commission is seeking grant applications to support research activities aimed at advancing the steel sector through the development of knowledge that contributes to specific practical objectives.
This topic covers research objectives related to new, sustainable and low-carbon steelmaking and finishing processes, advanced steel grades and applications, conservation of resources, protection of the environment and circular economy, and management of workforce and working conditions. There is no annual priority for this topic, and the call supports research projects focused on investigative or experimental work.
The funding available under this call is €20,500,000. Research projects are intended to acquire knowledge that facilitates the achievement of practical objectives within the steel sector.
To be eligible, applicants and affiliated entities must be legal entities, including public or private bodies such as undertakings, public bodies, research organizations, higher or secondary education establishments, or other legal entities that carry out research, technological development, and demonstration activities or make a substantial contribution to such activities.
Eligible participants must be established in an eligible country. These include European Union Member States, including overseas countries and territories, as well as non-EU countries that are associated with the Research Fund for Coal and Steel programme.
