Deadline Date: September 30, 2026
The National Research, Development and Innovation Fund has launched a call to support researchers, including early-career scientists, in accessing research infrastructures and measurement opportunities while strengthening their knowledge and use of national and international research facilities.
The focus areas, objectives, priorities, and themes of the call include supporting the use of research and measurement opportunities by domestic researchers, particularly in infrastructures where Hungary is a full member; organising group study trips to support researcher pipeline development; supporting the use of major domestic research infrastructures by international researchers; promoting integration into international scientific networks and encouraging the flow of knowledge.
The call supports activities under two sub-programmes. Sub-programme A focuses on enabling domestic researchers, PhD students, and MSc/MA students to access research infrastructures through activities such as international travel, stays abroad, project-related travel, dissemination of results, and research infrastructure usage fees.
For researcher pipeline development, eligible activities can also support participants of group study trips, including secondary school students and BSc/BA students, where proposals are connected to research infrastructures in which Hungary is a full member.
Sub-programme B supports international researchers and PhD students in accessing major domestic research infrastructures in Hungary. Eligible activities include inbound travel, accommodation during measurement periods, project-related travel, dissemination of results, and material, equipment, and instrument usage costs at host institutions.
The maximum project duration is 24 months. The call provides non-refundable funding with 100% funding intensity. Each project can receive funding ranging from HUF 800,000 to HUF 5 million.
The total available budget under the call is HUF 87.3 million from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund.
Eligible applicants include legal entities registered in Hungary or entities from the European Economic Area with a branch office in Hungary, including eligible businesses, higher education institutions, budgetary institutions, and research and knowledge-dissemination organisations.
